Elemental Fire - Who is He?
Written by Aster
An electron dances around an excited atom. Two atoms smash, sparking the flint of an inferno.
A flint sparks a campfire, a hundred sparks in the night, a trillion hearth fires spanning back to the first humans to gather together.
A hearth fire to a forge to a weapon to a wildfire. To a candle on a scholar’s desk, on a birthday cake, on an altar.
An altar, a burning cauldron, a bonfire. A celebration, an offering, a struggle. Destruction, rebirth, destruction, rebirth.
The warmth of the sun, that rises and dies and rises again. The reflected light of the moon and the molten flicker of the stars.
The innocent burned on the pyre and a home cooked meal to feed a family. The lightning-flash destruction of the old order and the burn of motivation in your gut, and every action in between.
Fire energy is the energy of soul. He is the burning within and the motivational body. He is the light in your eyes and the spark of life. He is the one that transmutes and the one that takes action. He is self-worth and the authentic being that exists within each and every one of us.
Through Fire, our energetic wishes burn in the material world and become Spirit, allowing the ones beyond the veil to work with us and through us.
He is the torch that guides the way. Illumination in the dark of night. Protector and warder of shadows. For me, He is my shield—one that burns up anything attempting to enter my field. He is intertwined with our survival as a species: a guardian, a guide, and a promethean gift.
He is the flame of knowledge passed on from life to life. The eternal fire of the human experience. The immortal being present in every living thing.
He is the desire to know, the drive to achieve a goal, the burst of inspiration and a kiss from the muses. He is the passion of love, the building of heat, and the wildfire of ecstasy.
Fire energy is the energy of the now, the present moment. By tapping into the awareness of all around you, you tap into your Fire. Fire is the only element always in motion. Earth, Air, and Water can exist in stillness, but heat and flame are a process, a transfer, always ongoing. They can be sometimes harnessed, sometimes contained, but never crystallized.
Fire is transmutation. This energy turns the words of Air into poetry, the emotions of Water into music, and the stillness of Earth into transcendental experience. Fire is the breath of art, and an altar filled with candles. The manifestation and the threshold crossed through ritual.
Fire is the life-giving sun and the inner core of our planet. The rays of light and the molten movements under the earth’s crust. We must have gratitude for Fire, for without it the land and sea would not be visible to us. It is through the light of Fire that we have access to the seen world. Fire gives us sight.
The temple for Fire in the body is the solar plexus. This is the location of the ego. The ego is not a bad thing! Sure, unchecked it can burn others, but we need a healthy persona to survive the world. Fire asks, “Who are you? How can you exhibit that unbowed?” The ego is the conscious part of you that decides who you are—a living fire. The fascination in the metaphysical community with ego death is simultaneously the death of motivations, passions, and expressive life.
Strengthening the core of the body strengthens the core of your inner being. A sunken abdomen is a sign of disconnection from the fire element. Core workouts, or focusing on the core in yoga, strengthen the solar plexus.
The solar plexus is the house of willpower, autonomy, and self-esteem. It is blocked by shame. To harness your Fire, you must transcend the limitations of the lower self, removing fear, guilt, and shame. Self actualization is an ever-evolving process. Different versions of you will need different things to flourish.
Fire must be kept alive. While the other elements simply exist and are sustained by the world, Fire is unique in that it needs food. Maintaining Fire requires us to care for our inner pyre.
We maintain Fire through daily habits, like adding one log at a time to a campfire. Picture a fire pit. Too many logs at once? We smother the fire. We call this burnout. Not enough fuel? The flame disappears. We have to start all over. It’s always more difficult to start a fire from scratch than it is to sustain it. Think about habits. It’s always easier to keep a habit than to start a new one. Fire above all requires discipline and consistency to wield its full potential. We also maintain Fire through asking ourselves through life, “What brings me passion now?”
In Tarot, Fire is the suit of Wands. It is the story of actions: planning, seeing, conflicts, karma, and dharma. The wand is the foundation of the torch, and the manifestation tool of The Magician that governs transformation. Interestingly, the alchemical symbol for fire is an upward pointed triangle. This symbol is also used in chemistry to indicate transformation and heat.
So how has your motivation been lately? The tarot pull of the month is next, and collectively we seem to be going through a disconnect from our power. If this is you, read on. If not, how can you use the following information to inspire the spark in others to reconnect with their vision, soul story, and purpose?
((By the way elements don’t have gender. I’m using he/she to maintain the honor of western mysticism but I do not believe any element has any gender association. I am mostly using this to keep myself from saying fire every third word. 🤣
While I do think it’s important to know that historically earth and water are “feminine,” and fire and air are “masculine,” we are hoping to find other ways of expressing this. More on this in a future newsletter.))

Collective Tarot Energies for June 2025
Strength and The Chariot Inverted
Shades of Willpower |
Ritual as an Option
![]() | ![]() |
Strength. The card Strength invokes the feelings of inner perseverance and compassion to overcome any obstacle, but especially those that come from the animal instinct: i.e., anger, rage, envy, guilt, etc. The woman gently calms the beast in this portrayal of the higher and the bestial self. This card signifies a time of balance within during a time of conflicting energies. It asks us to balance the ego and the id, to utilize both energies of the archetypes of the lion and the maiden. Strength and The Chariot are very similar cards, both having to do with willpower. The difference is Strength is often an internal process and The Chariot is external.
The Chariot Reversed. When the Chariot appears reversed it can represent the loss of willpower to do anything in the external world. Potential energy is not being used. The Charioteer is feeling discouraged because it feels like the entities pulling the cart cannot be controlled. To this, I like to point out that the charioteer does not control through reigns of a physical nature, but instead uses the mind—or his willpower—to give commands. Sometimes, the charioteer is discouraged from movement due to a lack of direction, or a hesitation to take action, worried about where he may end up.
Together. This combo is tricky to decipher because of how similar the individual cards are.
One possible meaning is the suggestion to hone the blade of the inner self, and to put emphasis on how you are developing your inner relationship. Right now, we are in a time where it is hard to know where to put our efforts to create change in the exterior world. I’ve seen a lot of clients and friends this last month walk around aimlessly or zombielike because they are losing connection to their passions, goals, and creations. The seemingly endless onslaught of news has affected their drive and willpower to exist and co-create in the world.
When we don’t know what to do in the exterior world, we can come to a place of standstill and stagnation. For me, these are times to go within to create change. Through inner work, it may become more apparent on what you can do externally to feel connected to shaping your reality again. Not to mention, if you know yourself deeper you will know the actions it takes to honor that person.
Know thyself.
Imagine 1,000 people getting clearer on their relationship with themselves to fully realize what kind of world they want to live in, and through that clarity knowing how to lead the lost into discovering themselves and their paths. True leaders know themselves and with that they can ignite the flames within others. Through sharing our stories, we can share the fires that burn within, we can light each other’s torches and illuminate the world to show each other what is possible. It is always easier to start a fire if someone has an open flame.
I understand the frustration of feeling like nothing you do will matter. I have been struggling with this off and on all year. I know that on the macro level it’s nearly impossible to make a difference on my own, but that doesn’t stop the occasional guilt I feel for not being able to make all the world’s issues go away.
I have learned the best way to navigate this feeling is to do little things that make change locally. I’ve started a club, service my community by offering readings and insights to their life challenges, and write spells for the digital community. It helps me feel like I am making a difference, even if it’s only adding a little to the collective. Imagine the change we could make by banding together, each of us doing a little bit. A two thousand pound block is impossible to move alone, but with 400 people, each would only have to carry five pounds.
This is possibly a key to understanding this reading. We’ve all been doing so much individual shadow work, manifestation, and healing for ourselves. How do we apply the skills we’ve learned to heal the collective? We need a plan. A few very controlling people created a plan and are actualizing it on all of us right now. What is our counter plan? How do we get the Charioteer to feel brave enough to take actions and start on the road ahead? (Just in case it isn’t clear, The Charioteer is us, marginalized individuals. Our inner strength has been building. The time of action draws near).
To quell his fears, he needs a map. I am calling on all cartographers of hope who understand history and how people avoid the possible looming fate being presented to us. To you, I send blessings of inspiration and magic to light your fires. Spend time in isolation and feel the plan come to you. We need guidance. Ritual is always an option; can we collectively summon a plan so that we don’t feel so action-less?
Especially during this time of great awakening. Many people are no longer satisfied with life because the veil is lifted. The illusions are falling, so those once great vices of our unhealed selves no longer bring the feelings they used to. Those material things once chased aren’t feeding us the way they used to. It’s time to create change so this new version of you can obtain happiness.
June Journal Prompts:
Who do I look up to in terms of leadership? What qualities do I admire in a leader?
Are there currently leaders that embody those qualities? If so, name them. If not, how might you start doing so and lead by example.
What have I learned from my healing journey that I can share with others? (Bonus points if you share your story for this newsletter. We’d love to feature you in the opening story section. Email us. :) )
What passions do I have and what actions can I take to either rekindle or start a relationship with them?
How can I increase my level of follow through with my ideas? Do I need to build dedication and discipline in this area of my life? Do you still feel connected to said passion or is it time to find a new one?
Remember, you have the power to create change both within you and outside of you. I invoke the rekindling of passion within you, reader. If you have been struggling with feeling connected to your path and purpose, I am sending you the energy to take action. Close your eyes and breathe to receive. Inhale for 5. Hold. Release for 5.
With that energy, perhaps even follow the ritual structure presented below to craft a ritual for yourself to be delivered the information you need for moving forward in a more connected way with your life. You deserve to feel alive and in a dance with your experience here.
Stay Blessed,
Aster

The Art of Ritual
Written by all of us at Three Cups Circle
What is Ritual?
Ritual is a word that isn't used often in our world, even in religious settings. It has a distinctly arcane mouthfeel and may seem intimidating or secretive. In a more colloquial sense, some people confuse the idea of ritual with simple repetition, or an act they do frequently.
"I take my tea on the porch every morning. It's my ritual."
You may take your tea on the porch every morning, but what does it mean to you? What does it do for you? What changes about the porch when you take your tea? Why the morning? Why tea? What are you not doing while you're taking tea on the porch?
It may indeed be a ritual for you if you purposefully create a sacred space away from daily life for peace and quiet! But formalized ritual can be both more complicated and more rewarding, and is a skill set and awareness to be grown and fostered like any other skill.
When we talk about Rituals in a magical sense, we are talking about special occasions where we put a pause on "normal" life and make a connection with Spirit. Rituals involve a set of actions, rich with meaning, and it's that meaning that sets ritual apart from simple habits (like taking tea on the porch). Habit is automatic and thoughtless.
The most important ingredient to any ritual is presentness, respect, and a goal. Once you understand that, the road opens before you.
Ritual in Action
So, you’re ready to perform a ritual—but you might be wondering: How do I perform a ritual? What happens if I make a mistake during the ritual? What are the steps I need to follow? What tools do I need? And most importantly—am I going to accidentally summon a demon?!
Getting started with rituals can feel overwhelming, especially if your knowledge relies on mainstream media depictions of witchcraft.
Pop culture makes it seem like we need a decked-out altar full of layers of dripping wax, dried herbs soaking in potion bottles, bronze statues, giant crystals, and all the bells and whistles. However, in truth, ritual can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. While rituals vary among modalities, cultures, and even circles of the same doctrine, most of our rituals follow the outline below.
What you will need:
A quiet, undisturbed space (this can be indoors or outdoors)
Candles, incense, or other items to help you connect with your senses. (Mostly optional, but it sets the scene and seduces the senses).
Altar tools (if you choose to use them (e.g., athame, crystals, tarot cards, herbs, or objects that hold personal significance)).
Remember, the most important thing is your intention. Your ritual doesn’t have to involve a long list of items. Focus on what resonates with you. What follows is a step-by-step guide of the anatomy of ritual, including the importance and context of each step.
Grounding, Centering, and Shielding
When beginning a ritual, calling all aspects of the self into the present moment is the best place to start. Take a few cleansing breaths, with an added vocal exhale to shake, vibrate, and clear the heart and throat centers. We want to enter a sacred space with a light heart and clear mind. Often, I recommend taking a cleansing shower or bath, or self-smudging, especially if the breaths alone aren’t fully able to help you come to the Now.
Grounding is the art of pouring yourself fully into the body and finding stability and solidity in yourself before beginning. We want to feel woven with the body and rooted in the self. Our favorite technique is one where we imagine roots growing from our seat or feet, stretching and multiplying deep into the earth with every inhale/exhale. I always love connecting with Earth energy during this part. I imagine that my body, mind, and spirit are joining the mycelial connectedness contained in the planet. I scan for mountains, forests, and my animal kin.
A quick note! Imagination is incredibly important in weaving the energy of ritual, and visualization is a skill you get better at over time. If you are having trouble staying with an image or feeling, keep stretching and working with that muscle whenever you can with guided meditations or simple day-dreaming. You will find it easier and easier. If you are not a visual person, grounding can simply be found by slowing the breath, and focusing on longer exhales than inhales. This will slow your heart rate and enter the sacred Now.
While grounding has more to do with the physical world, Centering is an internal balancing process. Centering is the art of sensing the nervous system, letting go of distractions, and finding balance within your moment. It is also about noticing how far your attention and energy has strayed, and gathering those wayward feelers back into yourself, releasing anything that is not yours. We associate centering with the element of water, picturing a swirling wine glass slowly finding stillness through gravity. Smiling and focusing on energy rising from the pelvis to the heart center can also be helpful.
Shielding is the art of tapping into and feeding your personal energy field to protect yourself. It is an alignment of your energetic fire with your aura. We like to picture a burning atmosphere around the body in the shape of a toroidal field, burning up anything attempting to distract you. (Pro tip, this can also be used to shield your energy when out in noisy, stressful, invasive public spaces). Shielding does exactly what the name implies, protecting you from energetic interruptions or invasions.
Casting a Circle
Once grounded, centered, and shielded, you are ready to cast a sacred circle. This sacred circle is a liminal space, existing between worlds, where you will perform the ritual. The circle acts as a gate for preventing outside forces from sapping or weaving themselves into your magic, and also serves as a container so your magic can properly build and grow.
You can mark this circle with physical objects like crystals or salt (please do not pour salt on the bare earth, though, as it ruins the topsoil). You can also simply walk around your space in a circle or if you are skilled in visualization, imagine the circle of space being protected. Each individual will do this slightly differently.
For Aster, much of his power is drawn from elemental energies and he learned this spell from the priestess he studied under, so as he casts and points, rotating in a circle, he states:
Earth, Air, Fire Water. Be the circle, cast and sealed.
Earth, Air, Fire Water. Be the circle, cast and sealed.
Earth, Air, Fire Water. Be the circle, cast and sealed.
None but love shall enter, none but love shall leave.
As above, so below
As within, so without.
The circle is cast. So mote it be.
For Niko or Vesper, they prefer a more traditional poetic route:
Surround, protect; protect, surround.
A ring of light is wound around
My shining crown, into the ground
Surround, protect; protect, surround.
Stating Intent
This is the easiest part of the ritual. It is where you stand in sacred space, and with energy focused on the heart, declare your intent to the universe. Some choose to announce themselves first (My name is [blank]), as you are entering a third space where other energies reside.
I am here to call abundance into my home, my family and my career.
I have drawn this circle and sanctified this space to call in spirits who would protect my home.
I am looking for protection.
I am seeking peace; I am seeking strength.
I am here for clarity.
Calling in Higher Power
Now, we call upon your spiritual allies, be they gods, goddesses, ancestors, animals, spirit guides, angels … Whoever you work with is a personal decision that may change depending on the theme of the ritual. The choice is yours!
Those beginning their craft do not always have a “team” (or, in our opinion, they haven’t met their team!). In this case, it is just as productive to call on spirits by function instead of name. “Those who would assist me”, “protective entities”, “spirits and guides”, and so forth will get the message across. Ask your helpers to join you, requesting their protection, guidance, and presence. Imagine these people or energies entering your ritual space, supporting you and your manifestations.
Invoking the Elements
Many practitioners call in the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. All of these elements perpetually surround us, but on a pagan altar, they are “traditionally” (in the Gardnerian/Western school of magic) represented by a chalice of water, a pentacle or a plate of salt for Earth, a bell or incense for Air, and a candle for Fire.
Each element carries a signature energetic frequency that will aid your ritual differently. If you want to learn more about elemental practice, please reach out to us! For now, you can invite the elements by requesting they join your space one by one, bringing their unique gifts to your situation and request.
Raising Energy
This is the heartbeat of your ritual, raising energy towards your goal. There are countless ways to raise energy, such as chanting, drumming, dancing, or even focusing deeply on meditation. As you raise energy, visualize it building within the circle, growing stronger with each movement, breath, or thought. We love to sing together and pass energy in a circle in our group practice. In solo work, Aster channels devotional dance to align with universal energies.
Your practice is yours! What act feels special or sacred, or both? How do you feel close to power and how can you lose yourself in energy? Lean into it.
Specific Activity
This part of the ritual varies depending on your goals, needs, or manifesting intent. This could include spellwork, crystal gridding, satchel making, potion brewing … the possibilities are endless, and you are the artist.
What are you weaving? Protection? Love? Abundance? A simple ritual involves writing a power word on a bay leaf and burning it.
A complicated ritual could be a satchel you are creating for a friend and it contains seven quartz crystals each associated with a specific angel you are calling for her, a larger rose quartz to gift her with self-love, and eight citrine points and a vial of cinnamon for her abundance. Think about this part as a way to embody or memorialize your sacred intention, whether or not you actually take a physical object/item with you when the ritual ends. For more on the overlap of crystals, numerology, and astrological timing, keep an eye out for our workshops.
Manifesting Meditation
Once the energy is raised, spend time in a manifesting meditation. Visualize your desired outcome as if it’s already happened. Feel the emotions associated with it—joy, relief, abundance, whatever resonates with your intention. Hold that vision and emotion as long as you can. Allow yourself to lean into how it will physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally feel when your manifestation occurs, layering in every sense you can.
Energetic Offering and Celebration
Now, we honor the spiritual energies called upon to aid in the ritual work by giving them a gift.
The Spirit World is a world of reciprocity. If you ask for something and you want your guardians, ancestors or gods to help you with your goals, you will need to leave an offering to give them the energy to do so. Most commonly, this offering is cakes and wine, or cookies and tea. Something to represent food and drink. However, depending on the energy you are calling in, this offering can take many shapes. Ask yourself, what makes sense?
Aster works with many animal species, and will ask himself what makes sense for their earthly energy. If he is working with butterfly magic, he will offer fresh flowers; Wolf and Jaguar love fresh meat; Frog loves a bowl of water to sit in. Picture the energy and go with your gut as to what makes the most sense.
If he is working with his ancestral line, he will gift something specific to that spirit. For example, his grandfather Gabriel loved coffee in the real world, so when he needs specific assistance from Gabriel, a cup of coffee is placed on the altar. If he is working with ancestors unknown, a family recipe of a home cooked meal is best.
Many specific deities have offerings they love, so do your research when working with them. Some love dance as an offering, others singing, others incense of a particular scent. Papa Legba will only grace your energetic doorway if you offer cigars and liquor, and so on. It varies significantly.
A note on discarding the offering: Food items especially should be disposed of in a responsible way. We don’t want to leave a vine of grapes or dark chocolate somewhere where beloved animals can find it. Be mindful and let the spirits know they can feast until X-o’clock, and if you have no where to discard/bury the offering outside, the trash is fine.
Releasing the Elements
With the energy raised and your ritual complete, it’s time to release the elements. One by one, thank the elements of earth, air, fire, and water for their presence and assistance. Gently guide their energy out of your circle, acknowledging their influence and letting them go in peace. We usually say something along the lines of:
Element of Earth, we thank you for your gift of stability, abundance and protection on this evening of the (New Moon/Full Moon/etc). May our intentions continue to grow.
Repeat the acknowledgement for each element, appreciating what they have brought to your magic.
Common gifts of Water: Flow, Release, Intuition, Wisdom
Common gifts of Fire: Motivation, Energy, Warmth, Drive
Common gifts of Air: Knowledge, Freedom, Joy, Winds
Lastly, as these enormous energies aren’t actually yours to “command”, we leave the door open to their future assistance with a little farewell rhyme.
Stay if you will, go if you must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
Releasing Higher Power
Next, we do the same thing for the deities, ancestors, angels, etc. we requested join in the ritual. Thank them for their guidance and protection during the ritual and one by one picture them leaving your space. If there is a candle associated with any one helper or power, snuff it out as they depart. Always do this with gratitude in your heart, not like you are rushing an acquaintance out the door.
Releasing the Circle
Close the ritual with the releasing/closing/opening of the circle. Different traditions use different words here, but ultimately this step is all about coming back to the ordinary world, with your heartfelt intentions being set free in the spirit world. To do this, you may walk your circle again (usually in the opposite direction), or visualize the release and a gentle landing back into reality. Generally, this will match how you opened the circle.
Gratitude
Gratitude is one of the most powerful frequencies we have access to. By sitting in stillness and feeling the power of gratitude climbing up our spine and filling the body, we are energizing the intent. It is like adding rocket fuel to your ritual fire. Allow yourself to feel thankful for everything in your life. By doing so, you are aligning with the energetic signature of abundance, and how it will feel when what you asked for comes to pass.
Releasing the Spellwork
Releasing all ties to your work is the last step. In order for your magic to work, you must set it free and let it work how it will. This isn’t to say that you can’t keep your spell satchel in your bedroom, or hang up your ritual ribbon weaving to remind yourself of your desires and your determination. Releasing your spellwork is to detach from the outcome and know that what you requested will come to pass. Your work is finished, and Spirit will take care of the rest. Simply close the ritual by stating, “and so it is,” or “so mote it be”, and come back into the real world.
Remember, ritual is a deeply personal practice. You don’t need fancy tools or an elaborate setup to create powerful magic. All you need is intention, focus, and a connection to the energies around you. Let your rituals evolve naturally and make them your own—this is the art of ritual, after all.
This is simply how we do it. Feel free to add or subtract from these steps, personalize them for specific traditions or practices, or even improvise what feels right in the moment. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or just starting out, trust yourself and the magic you're capable of creating. That is the most important thing. Blessed be.
Ten Actions to Take Today to Improve the World
As we’ve noted, in challenging times like these, it can be hard to know where to start. How can you help anyone when the problems are this big? How can we improve the world even a little when so many powerful forces are hell-bent on making it worse? But Fire teaches us to find some action, any helpful action no matter how small, and to start there. So to help you get started brainstorming, here are ten suggestions of actions you might be able to take immediately to do something for your community.
Figure out what you have, and how to share it. Do you have some free time? Do you have a certain skill? Do you run a business? Do you have lots of social connections you can call on? Do you have extra money or other resources, or are you good at finding those who do? Any of these things you have to give can make a huge difference to projects or organizations already in your community. Make a list of what you have to offer, then try to match those offerings with needs from people who know what to do with them. And if you don’t know where to start? Find some organizations and just ask what they need!
Donate blood. If this is a safe option for you, this is a wonderful and easy way to contribute to your community. Take it a step further and look into getting tested for organ donor registries, like the bone marrow registry. You might be able to save a life! And you can always make a note to sign up to be an organ donor after you pass.
Support local and small businesses. The next time you need something, take a little extra time to see if you can get it from a local business or a small business online. Go through the places you shop frequently, and see if you can swap some of them for local/small options instead. But also ….
Reuse, thrift, recycle, repair before you shop. It may take some extra effort, learning or time, but a lot of things can be given second life. You may find that it’s an even better option than shopping new, it saves you money, and it’s better for the environment. And talk to your social circles to see if you can all help each other out by swapping items, or repair skills, etc.
Use your voice. Okay, you knew this was coming. We’re not getting out of this without advocacy. But it can be overwhelming to know where to start. I suggest choosing one or two issue you want to focus on first, then get to know some organizations working on those issues. Advocacy organizations always have protests you can attend, causes to donate to, scripts for calling your Congressmen, and other options for actions to take. You can also make sure you’re educated on the topic and seek out opportunities to discuss it with others. Maybe change a few hearts and minds, maybe just make some people feel less like the one sane voice in a time of madness. (Here is a resource to help.)
Fill a community need. Can you start a little free library? A free pantry? A seed library? A maker space? A tool library? Brainstorm a community need, search up how others have met it, get some friends together, and go out and do it!
Organize. We will not make progress if we only work as individuals. We need networks, communities, organization. Connections. Does your workplace have a Union? Is their a faith-based organization in your faith tradition that shares your values? Are there local community groups, not just advocacy focused, that you could join? If there are no good options, could you start one? Every connection is another chance to build solidarity, education and mutual aid.
Safeguard community health. If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that our decisions affect each other, and we have some responsibility for protecting each other. It only take small actions like testing for Covid or flu if you have symptoms, staying home when sick, wearing a mask, staying current on vaccines for contagious diseases, and advocating for clean air and filters in your workplace, school, home, etc. Responsible individual choices help protect the vulnerable and stop the spread of the disabling effects of contagious disease.
Be kind. It may seem trite, but every interaction throughout your day is a chance to spread positive energy in a world full of negativity. Try to cultivate an attitude of patience, positivity and humor as you go throughout your day. Be nice to service workers. Smile and say hello to neighbors. Do a favor for a co-worker. Try not to sweat the little set-backs or annoyances. You certainly don’t have to be a ray of sunshine all the time, but a little mindfulness and intentional kindness can brighten the lives of more strangers than you’ll ever really know.
Donate to help the victims in Palestine. Of all the issues we’re grappling with these days, the fully documented genocide of a captive people is perhaps the most pressing. Though there have been problems with aid getting into the occupied territories to help the starving and injured, we’ve identified two trustworthy organizations you can donate your money to have an immediate impact. The Gaza Emergency Fund is a mutual aid network using trusted on-the-ground relationships to get funds to those who most need it. And the Palestine Red Crescent Society provides medical care and resources under the most strenuous and life-threatening of circumstances.

Astrology - Important Dates in June
It is difficult to predict how these transits will effect you personally without looking at your specific birth chart, so keep these dates in mind and look at the House it is occurring in for you as well as any significant aspects. To help you understand these energies, we paired them with possible overarching themes.
June 6- Venus Enters Taurus - Venus is comfortable in one of her home signs. She will be here all of June. Personally, I think this is a great time to work with the Aphrodite/Isis archetypes as Venus is very generous in this position. Just make sure you scratch her back too.
June 8 - Mercury Enters Cancer - A time of heightened psychic communication. Mercury neither loves not hates this placement. Expect to need take more time to emotionally sort things out before having deep conversations.
June 9 - Jupiter Enters Cancer - Jupiter’s exaltation! The planet works best in this position. This phase of Jupiter’s journey is a great one for manifesting abundance, growth, and activating potential. Pair this with the full moon in two days and we have ourselves a powerful combo for overflow and luxury.
June 11 - Full Moon in Sagittarius - A perfect night to transmute any energy around feelings of being stuck or stagnation. Perhaps even removing any energy that is preventing you from falling in love with the adventure of life or asking the removal of any blockages between you and receiving all you deserve.
June 17 - Mars Enters Virgo - This can be a little bit of a fussy energy but if you lean into it it is a prime time for organization and perfecting little details in anything you are trying to create.
June 20 - Sun Enters Cancer - A month to be gentle with yourself. I’d recommend working on any lingering mother wounds, or wounds around self care. Try to make sure you are taking care of all of your basic needs on a consistent basis. Sometimes this month can come with some emotional energies regarding whatever house Cancer rules for you, but with the above placements it shouldn’t be that bad this year.
June 25 - New Moon in Cancer- Manifestations for the home, or the inner Mother. This is the only time of year that the moon is in her home sign, so make sure you take advantage of it, especially because Jupiter is right there with the sun and moon! A great time for opening yourself up to RECEIVE. Allow the energies that want to care for you to do so.
June 26 - Mercury Enters Leo- We’re gonna be little attention seekers for this time period. Mercury is in its fall here. Our words will attract attention, so I’d recommend if you’re a content creator to have a plan during this time otherwise our spontaneous videos may come off childlike or unprepared. Naivety is the word that comes to mind here.

Listening to: Don’t Stop Me Now - Queen
Proven to be one of the most uplifting songs ever recorded, and by a queer artist none the less, this had to be the song for Pride Month. There is something so special about the tempo, the lyrics, the key, and the vibe of this song that gives it the ability to lift me up from any mood. Here’s hoping that this month we are all burnin’ through the sky as we uplift each other to greater heights. Hop in the car, put this song on, and just try not to break the speed limit (too much).
Reading: Queer Magic by Tomás Prower
In honor of June being Pride Month, and our focus on ritual practice, we’ve got to share this amazing exploration of queer magical practices across cultures and time periods. Thoroughly researched, approachably written, and built around both myths/stories and actionable practices to try, this book will help queer and non-queer spiritual seekers to expand their mind around gender, sexuality and identity. From the book’s description, “Discover inspiring contributions from contemporary LGBT+ Pagans, Catholics, Buddhists, Muslims, and others as they share personal stories of their experiences as well as spells, prayers, and meditations from their own practices. With practical suggestions and enlightening perspectives, this book is a unique resource for LGBT+ spiritual seekers who want to experience the sustaining energy and strength of the worldwide queer community.”
