September 2025 Witches’ Brew for the Soul

Hello!

We’re back with the edition that explains what can happen when you blend all of the elemental lessons learned thus far.

As a reminder, we have officially moved to a subscription model for the complete version of the newsletter, though the tarot reading and the book recommendation will always remain free. We want you all to have the information, but we do not want our words fed into AI training data to be regurgitated later in potentially false and even harmful contexts. Putting our work behind a small paywall is currently the best way to protect our data from AI scraping.

We will only be charging $1.99/mo to keep this information private, and we hope that you choose to continue to learn with us. If you’re reading the free version of this newsletter, and would like to join our paid tier to access our writing about the element Aether (and all our future essays and spiritual rabble-rousing), just click the button at the bottom to join us! (You may have to go to the online version to load the whole section).

September’s edition is all about bringing together the four elements, getting in touch with Spirit or Aether, and practicing true authenticity.

If you have questions please use the comment section and we will clarify in the next newsletter.

Elemental Harmony - Interconnectedness is the Path to Aether

Written by Aster

So what do we do now that we’ve covered the base four elements?

We put them together and balance them out to create the primordial element. The mother of the elements: Akasha, Aether, Spirit, Space, Sound. Void. It goes by many names. All the work we have done so far is to embody this magic. Understanding this energy is the initiation into being able to manifest your desires.

Aether is both the fusion of all four elements, and the space that exists between them. Weird right? That’s the point. It’s beyond the physics of the natural elements.

Aether is both duality and non-duality at the same time. It’s hard to describe as it is not a solid, but also makes up the solid. Aether is non-binary.

It is simultaneously connecting to everything, and connecting to nothing. There is an argument that this energy is what we call flow state.

If our physical form is made of millions of atoms, then our Aether is the space between each of them, and also what makes up the atoms themselves.

It’s a tricky element as it requires you to hold multiple truths: that something can be both something and not something at the same time.

To feel into Aether, one must hold the elements together. When each element is in balance with itself, and all elements are balanced, then something special occurs.

It is the feeling of all being healthy in life. You are attuned to the body, emotionally satisfied, confident in the self, and loving of others.

In asana, it is the stability of the legs, the flow of your movements, connection to core, and synching the breath. If you have ever lost yourself in the flow, you have felt aether.

So far this all sounds quite mystical and complex, but we all have touched on this energy before. When you have a sudden realization of a godly perspective, something outside of you sees all influences on a situation and speaks truth. The self-realizations, the heart racing joy of hearing your favorite song move through you, the writer’s uninterrupted flow, the ecstatic dance—they all touch on aether.

Summoning that energy in meditation and waiting for what is beyond the darkness of closed eyes is where the magic happens. It is where your purpose is whispered into your ear. Where the next steps come to you in intuition. Where you discover who you really are.

For those of my followers who practice Craft, if you are not accessing the energy of Aether before you cast your spell, you are missing out on a powerhouse of energy that is at your fingertips. Empowering your Craft with Aether is like adding jet fuel to your spell work.

Being a channel for guides and loved ones, connecting to aether is crucial to my process. It is from this mind space I am able to connect with the unseen. If you have ever watched me state my pre-reading prayer, you can see the moment it happens—I feel it shift my body on every layer in my field.

Part two of this column is in the Supporter section below. I discuss step by step what the energy feels like to me when activating my etheric channel. If you subscribe today, I will do a recorded version of this process as a guided meditation for you to listen to and send it out to the Supporter-tier and Initiate-tier mid month. Can we collectively make it happen?

Collective Tarot Energies for September 2025

The Empress and the Two of Wands
The Acceptance of Your Purpose | Receiving the Plan
The World is in Our Hands

The Empress. The Empress leans into her chair, knowing that all she could ever need will be brought to Her. She teaches us the importance of receiving, acceptance, and gratitude. Her domain is abundance, fecundity, and magnetism. She is the archetypal divine mother (the Mother of Mother goddesses). She rules the energy of the material world, and is the personification of the planet Venus in Tarot—linking her to goddesses like Shakti, Isis, Aphrodite, and Inana.

Much like Aether, she is the underlying energy that exists in all things. She is creative, open, nurturing, warm, encouraging, and safe. She is a protective energy that teaches you there is no need to chase. One of the gifts she gives us is the gift of creativity.

In this instance, She reminds us that everything in the material world is created, and as her children we are meant to create the lives we want to live.

Two of Wands. A man stands at the edge of his kingdom, the world in his hands. A weight of responsibility has been given to him. What will he do with this newfound duty? He looks out to the vastness of the land. How can someone so seemingly insignificant in the grand scheme make change in such a big world? With the world so open and full of potential, how does one take the first steps of knowing that anything could happen? He thinks of where he came from and where he wants to go. Courage will be required on the journey as he plans to leave the comfortable space of habit and security. The Empress arrives and reminds him that although all potential paths lie before him, the answers to the path he seeks may lie in the journey he has already led. He was born with specific potential, her unique gift for him.

Together. With these two cards together, I see the man in the Two of Wands holding the Earth, the material world, the domain of the Empress. This combination is saying that we are the caretakers of this realm, and as such we have a responsibility to ensure its safety. Just as a mother watches over her children, we too must ensure that we are safeguarding the future of this world.

We must start viewing this relationship as reciprocal. What we do the planet, we do to ourselves. If we care for the planet, we care for ourselves. If we allow unwanted powers to do things to the planet, we allow them to do it to ourselves.

I am being asked to remind all of us that being embodied gives us creative potential. The Empress rules over the realm of embodiment. She is the archetypal mother and has given all of her children the power to create. Our ideas for projects come from Her, and it is our duty to serve these ideas by manifesting these dreams into reality. When we hide the light of our creations from the world, we abandon the soul mission. Her ask is that you look at the dreams you want to create and set the beginnings of action to them this month. Sometimes we can get stuck in the thinking of it all, and never take action toward our dreams.

There can be many reasons why we get stuck in the planning phase. Sometimes it is due to us wanting everything to be perfectly planned through—we keep ourselves planning instead of taking action. Sometimes it can be the fear of being seen—we keep ourselves small to avoid the risk of judgement, shame, or rejection. Sometimes the fact that we haven’t taken actions on our goals in a while can smother us into a numb state where we soak in the guilt of worthlessness. Heavy shit.

We all hold our own specific wisdoms and creative potential uniquely crystalized within due to our individual life experiences. This month, She asks you to release the fears listed above and show others your true authenticity. This is your purpose.

A wise one once told me, “Get it done and refine.”

A secondary message regarding purpose is coming through. If we remove the matrix of the world, strip back the ways we describe ourselves, then we are able to come to the palace of the true self. Think for a moment. Without your job title, how would you describe yourself? Without your favorite media, characters, sports teams, material objects, what is left to describe yourself? While these outside joys are a wonderful thing we get to experience in this world, it is very important to your spiritual process that you ask yourself: Who am I? What did I come here for? Odds are, your life thus far will point to the answer. Remember, anything you have overcome is also a thing to celebrate.

You may not be a superhero, but you are a survivor—and that means more than you think. When a group of survivors comes together, we thrive, united we stand.

The Empress states, what are you magnetizing? What are you creating in this life?

The Two of Wands asks: How will you get there? What is the plan?

September Reflections, Tasks, and Journal Prompts:

  • What is a project or goal that comes to mind when you think about life long dreams? Is it a book? Is it a place? What actions can you take to create the potential reality of this goal? What feelings keep you from starting? What needs to be adjusted?

  • Describe the journey of your life thus far. What have you overcome? What battles are you still fighting? Odds are the gifts you bring come from these places.

  • Regarding a current goal you have set out for yourself, look back and note all of the progress you have made thus far. How can you celebrate your growth? It is a very human thing to constantly be moving the bar to higher places. Sometimes it is important to remember just how far you have come from places you once were.

  • What is a commitment you can do today that would help the planet? What is something slightly bigger you could do next week? What is something even bigger you could do next month? Building momentum like this can lead to great change. The Empress is exponential.

Remember, isolation from creation can often be a reflection of isolation from the world. If you are feeling stagnant, like nothing matters, or like change is impossible, then I ask you, when was the last time you felt the presence of community? There are so many ways to find it, and we’re building one right now. Stay tuned for more.

Stay Blessed,

Aster

Aster here. Honestly, this book has become my bible in understanding where pain is kept in the body and why. This is not a beginner’s book on chakras, but it is the most succinct and all encompassing book on how the spirit body blends with psychology. This book stays near my desk to help me find deeper reasons why a client is affected in various spiritual centers. Out of all of the books on my shelf this is the one I recommend most. It can feel different to everyone, but there are patterns. Through practicing meditation, I have learned to do this process quickly, but when starting out it is important to feel each step fully before moving on to the next.
